WisutWood saws and planes structural hardwood to the sections and lengths your designer specifies: posts, beams, joists, rafters, purlins, ridge beams and turned round posts, for timber houses, salas, resorts, temples and project work. It is priced by timber volume in cu ft and ships planed and unfinished from our Surat Thani factory to sites across the upper south, with nationwide chartered delivery for projects outside that area.

Questions before you order Timber structure
Which species should be used for structural timber?
Structural work generally uses hardwoods such as Teng, Mai Daeng, Takhian Thong, Makha and Kankrao, because they are strong and carry load well. Outdoors or near moisture, choose a species that tolerates damp and treat it with a wood preservative.
How is timber volume in cu ft calculated?
cu ft = thickness (inch) × width (inch) × length (ft) ÷ 144. With the length in metres, use thickness × width × length (m) × 0.0228. For example, a 2×6 inch member 4 metres long is about 1.09 cu ft.
Can you make turned round posts?
Yes. The factory turns round posts to the diameter and length you need. Past work includes turned lobby posts for a resort on Koh Samui and temple hall posts in Surat Thani.
Who specifies the post and beam sections?
Sections should be specified by the project engineer or designer from the spans and the loads, and the factory then saws and planes the timber to that spec. Timber thicker, wider or longer than the standard range carries an extra machining charge according to difficulty.
Can you deliver structural timber to other provinces or outside the south?
We deliver to sites across the upper south as standard (Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Krabi, Phuket, Phang Nga, Ranong, Chumphon, Phatthalung and the islands). For larger projects outside that area we charter trucks and deliver nationwide. Quoted prices do not include freight, which is estimated from distance and volume. We manufacture and deliver only. We do not install; your own carpenters do the fitting on site.
