Yes — an integrated timber factory where our own team handles every step, from sawing and kiln drying to planing, then woodwork across 10 systems, solid-wood furniture and surface coating (furniture and individual pieces only). Yes, cut to your sizes. In stock right now are takhian thong and sadao thiam (finger-jointed rubberwood for furniture); other species such as teng, daeng, makha mong and yang na are quoted and sourced per job. Timber is priced by volume (cubic feet).

We coat and finish furniture and individual pieces only, with two systems: lacquer/PU and food-grade wax. Woodwork (flooring, walls, ceilings, structure and so on) ships planed and unfinished — your own team finishes it after installation.

Yes, for large projects. We charter a truck and deliver anywhere in Thailand once the volume justifies the freight. For smaller quantities outside our area, talk to our team and we will find the most economical way.

Solid wood is strong and hard-wearing, can be repaired, sanded back and refinished, and lasts longer. Substitute materials cost less but usually do not handle humidity well and are hard to repair — they suit different kinds of work.

It depends on the use, the budget and the tone you want: teak stands up to sun and humidity, while makha is very hard and suits table tops. Compare them on our wood guide page, or ask our team to recommend one.

Janka is the force needed to press an 11.28 mm steel ball halfway into the wood. The higher the figure, the better the wood resists denting and wear, which suits flooring and stairs. The standard figure is measured at 12% wood moisture content.

Some species have no test result of their own, so we use a trade-group figure (the balau or keruing groups, for example) or a figure from plantation-grown timber in research, which may have been tested at a moisture content other than 12%. We state the moisture content (MC) at the time of testing for every figure. They are fine for a rough comparison, but should not be used as structural design values.

They are controlled under the CITES convention and/or Thai law, and trade and export are restricted. WisutWood shows the information for study and comparison only: we do not sell or quote these species, and we suggest legal alternatives such as padauk, daeng or makha mong with proper documentation.

There are two systems to choose from. 1) Natural food-grade wax soaks into the wood, so you still see the grain and feel the real surface; it is safe for anything that touches food and suits homeware, everyday objects and smaller pieces. 2) A lacquer/PU film builds a protective layer on the surface and resists water, heat and scratching far better, which suits heavy use in cafés and restaurants. Coating systems apply to furniture and individual pieces; woodwork (flooring, walls, ceilings, structure and so on) ships planed and unfinished, not finished at the factory. Yes. We use food-grade wax for work that touches food, such as chopping boards, serving trays and table tops that food is placed on. Let the wax dry and wipe off the excess before use. Clean with mild soapy water and dry it off; do not soak it or put it in a dishwasher.

A lacquer/PU film handles splashes and drink stains well and can be wiped with a damp cloth. A wax finish is water-resistant to a degree, so wipe up spilt water or liquid straight away. With either system, do not let water stand on the surface, do not put very hot items directly on it, do not use harsh cleaning products, and keep indoor pieces out of strong sun and driving rain.

Re-wax when the surface starts to look dry, the colour fades, or water no longer beads on it. How often depends on the use: items used and washed often, such as boards and trays, need it more than decorative pieces. It is easy to do — sand lightly with fine paper, wipe on a thin coat of wax and wipe off the excess. You can do it yourself at home.

Table tops and counters that meet cold glasses, hot drinks and wiping all day long are best with a lacquer/PU film, which resists water, heat and scratching better. For serving trays, chopping boards and anything that touches food directly, food-grade wax is the one. The same venue can use both systems side by side, and our team will advise based on how the place actually runs.

A wax finish is easy to repair yourself: sand the spot with fine paper and wipe on fresh wax, and the mark blends back into the surface. On a lacquer/PU film, shallow marks in the film can be polished out, but a scratch that reaches the wood, or a lifting film, means stripping the old film and recoating — best left to an experienced finisher so the whole panel matches.

Yes. Wax takes fewer steps and less labour, so it is usually the more economical choice. A lacquer/PU film involves several steps — grain filling, sanding back the raised grain, staining and several coats — so it costs more. The real price depends on the surface area and the number of pieces. WisutWood is a licensed timber processing factory and can issue sawn timber control documents, transport permits and certificates of timber origin, so moving timber and handing over project work runs into no paperwork problems. You are welcome to see the documents before placing an order.

Our standard is a moisture content of no more than 12% (12–15% is acceptable depending on the type of work). Timber that is dry enough shrinks, warps and splits far less after installation.

Kiln drying adds time and cost, and some of the timber is rejected when it warps during drying. In return it reduces gaps, warped panels and remedial work after handover, which usually costs more than the difference in the timber price.
