WisutWood Fit-in · Whole timber buildings & guest-room furniture
Lobby Counters, Reception Desks and Hotel Entrance-hall Woodwork
The lobby is the first thing a guest sees. WisutWood makes the woodwork for hotel and resort entrance halls to architect drawings — reception and concierge counters, wall panelling, timber ceilings, batten screens and the turned round columns of the hall, as in the lobby of Banana Fan Sea Resort on Chaweng Beach, Koh Samui. The pieces are made at our Surat Thani factory and delivered to site for the project’s own team to assemble.
What to think through before you order
- The counter has to fit the real space and leave routes for power, data and the POS equipment
- The heights have to work for staff and guests alike, including guests using a wheelchair
- The counter top takes heavy use and is wiped down every day
- The wood tone of the counter, the walls and the columns in one hall has to hang together
What we make
- Reception counters
- Concierge and tour desks
- Wall panelling and feature walls behind the counter
- Timber ceilings and ceiling battens in the hall
- Turned round columns and timber-clad square columns
- Shelving and document storage behind the counter
Every piece is made to the size, species and drawing you specify — nothing is off the shelf.

What project owners ask us first
How long does a project take to produce?
Roughly 7-30 working days after the design is confirmed and the deposit is paid, depending on the design and the number of pieces. The actual time for each job is stated in the quotation.
Is there a minimum order for project work?
We take on jobs with a total order value of 15,000 baht or more (this is a condition for taking the job on, not a product price).
Can you deliver to the islands, and how is freight charged?
Freight to the islands is charged at cost: both the ferry (vehicle barge) and the road distance. It is stated in the quotation.
Can you build to our architect’s drawings and repeat the same spec in every room?
Yes. We build from whatever your architect or interior designer sends — drawing files, reference images or a BOQ — and repeat the same spec across every room, keeping dimensions, species, tone and coating system consistent across the project. A first sample piece can be approved before the production run starts.
Can we see sample work and visit the factory before deciding?
You are welcome to book a visit to see real timber and sample work and tour the factory, during working days and hours.
Questions before you order — Lobby & Reception
How high should a timber reception counter be?
Reception counters are usually built at two levels: a desk-height working surface for staff and a higher guest-side top that screens the equipment. Many projects add a lower section for guests using a wheelchair. We build to the levels in your drawings, or propose them from the plan you send.
Which coating suits a counter top?
A top that is written on, loaded and wiped down every day should have a lacquer film, which resists marks and water better. Walls or display shelving where you want the bare timber to show can take wax.
Do you make the turned columns for the lobby?
Yes — we turn round columns in our own factory to the diameter and length you specify. A real example is the turned round columns in the lobby and guest rooms of Banana Fan Sea Resort on Chaweng Beach, Koh Samui.
What drawings do you need for lobby work?
A plan of the hall with real dimensions, elevations or renders of the counter, the positions of power, data and any equipment that needs cable routes, and the other materials in the hall that the woodwork has to sit with.
Can you deliver lobby woodwork to another province?
We deliver to site across upper southern Thailand as a matter of course (Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Krabi, Phuket, Phang Nga, Ranong, Chumphon, Phatthalung and the islands). Large projects outside that area are delivered nationwide by chartered truck. Quoted prices exclude freight, which is worked out from distance and volume. We manufacture and deliver only, with no installation service — your own carpenter fits the work.
